About us

Welcome to the Solidarity Movement for Justice and Truth. We are a community of Sri Lankans, scattered around the world, predominantly Christians, hailing from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, with a significant representation from the Sinhala and Tamil speaking communities.

As a collective, we are deeply saddened and shocked by the unfortunate state of affairs in Sri Lanka and the enduring hardships faced by its people. Our hearts ache for our beloved nation and its citizens who have endured immense suffering and injustice.

Who We Are

We firmly believe in the imperative of serving justice and revealing the truth regarding the countless killings that have been swept under the carpet throughout the past 76 years of Sri Lanka's political history.

We strongly affirm that the inhumane and brutal atrocities witnessed anywhere in Sri Lanka, whether in the North or South, alongside the horrific attacks endured on Easter Sunday, must never be repeated in the annals of our nation's history. These tragic events serve as poignant reminders of the profound toll of violence and loss, compelling us to take resolute action to ensure that such dark chapters never tarnish the fabric of our beloved homeland again. We envision a land free from fear, devoid of ethnic atrocities, and instead, a place where justice and truth prevail. We firmly believe that every Sri Lankan deserves a life of dignity and peace, as well as a dignified and peaceful passing.

Our Mission

Our mission is clear: to stand in solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or background. We strive to be a voice for the voiceless, advocating for the rights and dignity of all Sri Lankans. Through our collective efforts, we aim to foster a society built on principles of justice, equality, and mutual respect.

How did we come to exist?

In the wake of the tragic Easter Sunday attack on April 21, 2019, a small but determined group of individuals, deeply affected by the events, united. Driven by a shared commitment to seek justice for the victims, they laid the groundwork in October 2021 for the establishment of what would evolve into the Solidarity Movement for Justice and Truth.

Along our journey, we've welcomed many new faces into our ranks, while some have chosen different paths. Yet, steadfast in our purpose, we continue to move forward toward our goal.

What We Do

At the Solidarity Movement for Justice and Truth, our mission is driven by four core principles. Firstly, we are dedicated to identifying the mastermind responsible for orchestrating the tragic Easter Sunday attack. Secondly, we tirelessly advocate for justice to be served to the victims affected by this heinous act. Moreover, we are committed to preventing similar injustices from recurring in our homeland through proactive measures and awareness campaigns. Finally, we endeavour to restore the lost enthusiasm of Christian laypeople within our society, fostering a renewed sense of community and solidarity.
